Don’t let the Fairmont’s elegance intimidate you at first glance. The extensive collection of flags you see displayed out front is in honor of the founding member nations that came together during the United Nations Conference 1945. Representatives stayed, dined and congregated here, both for business and pleasure. The uniquely decorated Garden Room hosted small yet important meetings, while the Penthouse Suite was a popular spot for casual conversation after-hours. It’s a great opportunity to follow in their footsteps and unwind with a drink. You’ll hear it all straight from legendary storyteller Tom Wolfe, the Fairmont’s Chef de Concierge & Director of Heritage. He’s seen it all—as the first concierge in all of America, to bring over the practice from Europe.
